Nearly 25,000 Experiencing Power in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Severe Storms
Around twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland were left lacking electricity on the start of the week after powerful weather events impacted the area, generating powerful gusts reaching 109km/h.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Destruction
Locals witnessed large ice chunks measuring up to 7cm in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that different parts across Queensland had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were working to restore power throughout the affected regions, with dozens of response units deployed to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Storm Challenges
At the same time, around 1,000 households in the southern state also experienced electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area experienced its wettest day in over 500 days.
Rescue organizations received 598 emergency reports across the region, mainly for building damage but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

At the height on Sunday, more than 28k electricity consumers in Victoria were without power.
Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were forecast to persist along large portions of eastern Queensland this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
Tomorrow was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing storm activity expected across different parts of both regions.
Medical Alert
Health officials alerted that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, specifically given the current weather patterns.
This warning comes after past events where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the region.
